Financial Aid and Scholarships

Transfer
MCCC has pre-approved transfer options to about 20 university partners, so students can go on to get that bachelor's degree. Siena Heights University has a location right on MCCC’s campus.

Facilities
State-of-the-art, Student-focused Facilities
2022: Campbell Academic Center opens. The center's renovation included the addition of numerous student study rooms and collaboration spaces; physical and technological improvements to classrooms and labs, a transformation of the library into an expanded Learning Resources Center that creatively merges access to traditional library services with media and instructional support, as well as collaborative learning spaces; a renovation of the building’s small theater, and the addition of new entryways, exterior seating “walls” and outdoor gathering areas. In addition comprehensive, exterior wayfinding signage and map kiosks were installed throughout campus.
2021: Student classroom spaces and lecture halls in the Life Sciences Building were renovated. A Student Government/Clubs room and Safe Space room opened in the Warrick Student Center.
2020: Founders Hall – which houses a Student Success Center, collaboration spaces, classrooms, labs and offices – opened.
2018: A new student collaboration wing was added to the Life Sciences Building
2017: A campus-wide geothermal-based heating, cooling and air-conditioning system was installed.

Sustainability
From recycling to energy conservation to solar power and more, MCCC is highly engaged in sustainable facilities. Our official college color may be cardinal, but we sure do like to be green!
Community
Impact
MCCC has awarded about 20,000 degrees and certificates since it was established in 1964.
Two-thirds of MCCC graduates stay in Monroe County and contribute to the local economy.
Seven of 10 Monroe County residents or their immediate family members have taken classes at MCCC.
Monroe County’s associate degree attainment level is higher than that of the state and nation because of MCCC. It is the only college headquartered in the county and greatly enhances the level of educational attainment, diversity and cultural enrichment in the community.
Lifelong Learning and Workforce Training
MCCC’s Office of Corporate and Community Services is the leading source in Monroe County for non-credit lifelong learning opportunities for the community and the development and delivery of non-credit training solutions for local businesses. During the 2021-22 fiscal year, MCCC served nearly 1,600 non-credit students.
Youth
MCCC offers three Upward Bound programs funded by nearly $4 million in grants from the federal government to help more area high school students transform into college students. The programs are in conjunction with Airport High School, Monroe High School and Jefferson High School.
MCCC offers a Destination Dance School with youth dance troupes and instruction, a youth VEX Robotics program and a full slate of Summer Camps.
Nearly 500 children participate in MCCC’s FUNdamentals Summer Camps each year.
MCCC hosts numerous children’s shows throughout the year in the La-Z-Boy Center as part of its Campus/Community Events Series.
Convenience
Accessible education is important. MCCC has two convenient locations – one in centrally located in the middle of Monroe County and another just north of the Ohio border in Temperance – and offers about a long list of classes in online or blended formats in each semester.
Arts, Culture and Enrichment
Each year, MCCC hosts a full slate of concerts by national, regional and local acts, as well as other cultural and community events. Many of them take place in the 550-seat, state-of-the-art La-Z-Boy Center and Meyer Theater.
MCCC brings in renowned speakers and panels that benefit the campus and the community.
Each year MCCC hosts a superb array of mixed media and art exhibitions and lectures through its Visiting Artist Series.
The MCCC Art Collection is a vast, with most of the pieces procured from award-winning visiting artists who have visited the college since the early 1970s; it is quite possibly the largest collection at a community college in the state.
An Attractive, Functional Venue
MCCC’s facilities are rented for use by hundreds of organizations each year, providing an attractive, functional venue for events attended by tens of thousands of visitors.
